Abstract
This research aims to analyze the efforts made by the main character to overcome identity crisis in the anime "Koe No Katachi" (A Silent Voice) by Yoshitoki Oima. This study is a literature research using a mimetic approach with Erik Erikson's psychosocial theory and James Marcia's identity status theory. The method used is descriptive analysis through examination of dialogues and events in the anime. The research results reveal that the main character, Ishida Shouya, makes four main efforts to overcome his identity crisis: reconstructing moral identity through acknowledging his past mistakes, rebuilding social relationships by forming new friendships and repairing past relationships, confronting his "shadow self" as reflected through confrontation with his past as a bully, and finding a new purpose in life marked by the transition from suicidal tendencies toward self-acceptance. This research contributes to the understanding of identity crisis and efforts to overcome it in modern literary works as a reflection of societal reality.
