ANALYSIS OF HATE SPEECH AGAINST MARSELINO FERDINAND PHILIPPHUS IN THE COMMENTS OF AN INSTAGRAM POST

This study aims to analyze hate speech against Marselino Ferdinand Philipphus, an Indonesian national football player, in the comments section of an Instagram post. Using a qualitative research method with a pragmatic and speech act approach, this study focuses on identifying illocutionary speech acts in comments. Using Searle's Speech Act Theory, this study categorizes forms of hate speech, such as insults and defamation, and analyzes Their communicative intent behind them. Data collected through screenshots of comments with the highest engagement are classified based on the illocutionary act and the relevant legal framework. These findings highlight the prevalence of harmful language in online interactions and provide insight into the type of illocutionary acts used.
